Colours and 2-D Shapes/3-D Objects

We have been learning the names for various colours using a variety of materials. We played a sorting game using toy fruits. We had to listen very carefully for the two step directions. First, we identified the colour of the fruits. Then, we had to listen for which coloured basket to place them in. For example, we placed red coloured fruits into the the orange basket. We will continue practicing the names of colours in different and exciting ways.

We have also been learning the names for various 2-D shapes. First, we identified the shapes and counted the number of sides/points or no points/sides that each 2-D shape had. Then, we used wax sticks to recreate the shapes. We will continue practicing learning the names of 2-D shapes through different ways. We will also learn the names of different 3-D objects. Stayed tuned for more!

We are continuing to practice the names for various colours in many ways. We sorted different coloured objects into their appropriate spot in the container. We had to listen very carefully for the two step directions. First, we identified the colour of the object. Then, we had to listen for another colour to figure out which spot to place the object in. We took turns giving directions. We gave directions by saying, "(Name) put pink in green".

Hands-on activities are helping us practice the names for various colours. We took turns giving directions. We gave directions by saying, "(Name) put your orange bead on". 

Common Phrases and Materials in the Classroom

We continued practicing the names for materials in the classroom and how to politely ask our classmates to borrow one of the items. We played a game we like to call "May I please borrow your...". Below is what we must say to each other.

In order to 'borrow' an item, we must say...

"May I please borrow your ______?"
